The challenge
Lloyd’s Register wanted to create a resource that could give new and existing colleagues a clear, engaging introduction to the maritime industry. The goal was to help people understand not only the scale of global shipping but also the value chains, stakeholders and regulations that shape it. The training needed to simplify a complex subject, work across roles and regions and bring to life Lloyd’s Register’s role in safety, sustainability and innovation.
Our approach
We worked closely with subject-matter experts and learning professionals within Lloyd’s Register to design a structured digital learning programme called Exploring the Maritime World. The module introduces the industry through interactive lessons that combine storytelling, visuals and decision-making activities. Learners explore vessel types, maritime value chains, international regulations and the diverse stakeholders that keep global trade moving.
To make the experience memorable, we wove in interactive maps and narrative elements that show the human and environmental impact of the sector. The course also highlights Lloyd’s Register’s specific role as a classification society and maritime services provider, connecting industry context with the organisation’s wider mission.

We were pleased to collaborate with Arck on our recent learning project. Their responsiveness, high-quality design in Evolve and on-time delivery contributed to a well-organised course that received positive feedback from our colleagues globally.
